Hey Riya, How old are you and where are you from?
I’m 23 years old and was born in Goa. I did my schooling in Goa and then I pursued my Bachelor of Business Management at St. Aloysius, Mangalore. Then I moved to Bangalore. I worked as audit associate in Big 4 audit firm KPMG for a year and I used to model too. But a year later I left the job and started pursuing full-time modelling.

How did you start modelling?
My friends always told me that I can be a model going by my looks and the way I carry myself. Hence I once participated in Miss Mangalore 2014.  From there I knew I wanted to be a Model and then I started with the process of getting my portfolio done, and also did few ramp shows in Mangalore. From there my modelling career started.

What was your first big break in the industry?
GL Acharya jewellery ad! And I also got opportunity to be a KTM model. These were my first big break. After doing many KTM shows, I am also known as an KTM model.
What has been your favourite job so far?
Since childhood I have been passionate about dancing. In school and colleges, I used to participate in many extra curricular activities. One fine day, I got a offer to dance at a Corporate event. And I accepted it which turned out to be a successful show. From there I decided to be a dance performer and I love this job a lot.
What is your dream modelling job?
Modelling is so much fun for me. It brings me happiness. And everyday there is something new to try and to explore in this field. It keeps challenging me and I love challenges. It always brings the best out of me. I love changes. So my dream for now is to do International projects.

How do you deal with all the travelling required to be a model? How do you cure jet-lag?
I love travelling. But sometimes it’s stressful. I don’t get enough sleep and for me sleep is so important. You won’t believe me, I used to skip my college classes due to lack of sleep. But as I love working as a model, I give my best and I feel it’s worth it. But I do take some power naps whenever I get free in between my work.
When you’re not busy modelling, what are some of your favourite things to do?

Believe it or not! I’m a home person. I love spending time indoors. I love to watch my favourite series on Netflix and whenever I have time I go to gym.

Fashion for you is Having a right attitude…
Attitude is where you can carry yourself in anything you wear. Attitude is being yourself. Attitude is not “They will like me“. Attitude is “I’ll be fine if they don’t“. Attitude is everything..
If you weren’t a model, what would you want to do?
The Irony is sometimes I think what if I want to discontinue in this field. What other options do I have? But I never got an answer. Because this is what I love doing. So next time If I get an answer I will surely let you guys know!

What’s your favourite snack?
Anything which satisfies my hunger! I’m not that foodie. So anything with Veg, Chicken and Sea food, I’m cool to eat it.
Which is your favourite place you like to travel?
I love Goa. It’s one of the coolest city in India I think! I’m a beach person. So Goa is the best option for it. And as it’s my hometown, I’m attached to this city.

What is your all time favourite movie and why?
PINK! Everyone knows how the Society works. People judge here so quickly, and guess what depending on the way you dress, the time, the place, whom you make friends with, your habits, religion, gender, colour, and the list goes on. I respect our culture and I love our country, but still I want our Society should change and In that Movie it clearly shows that it’s time that society improve their judgements towards Men and Women.
Any advice or suggestion you want to give to the fresher those who trying to pursue modelling as their career.
There are always someone better than you but that shouldn’t stop you from reaching out your dreams. Always love yourself, no matter what others say. Whatever difficulties you get in your life, always know that your family is there for you, than your friends. Prioritise your Family always.

What is the one thing that you want to change in this world?
I have two things:
1- People should stop judging too quickly
2- Opportunities for the Talented people
